Frequently Asked Question

What is the Blue & Gold Banquet?

The Blue & Gold Banquet is a an annual banquet and party held by each Cub Scout Pack. Traditionally, its held in February to coincide with the month of Scouting's birthday. In our Pack, the Blue & Gold replaces the February Pack meeting, and includes a catered meal, door prizes, a dessert contest, and the "crossing-over" ceremony for the Pack's Webelo II scouts.

The "Crossing-Over" ceremony recognizes the scouts who are leaving the Pack and possibly moving on to Boy Scouts. They receive their Arrow of Light, which is the highest award possible for a Cub Scout to earn, in a very impressive and solemn ceremony.

Our pack has also begun a tradition of a Father/Son dessert contest at the Blue & Gold. Each scout can bring a dessert he and his father have created according to the theme of the Blue & Gold Banquet, and enter it in the contest. The desserts are judged, prizes awarded, and then they're eaten.

Because of the entertainment and catered meal, there is small additional cost for participating in the Banquet. Tickets are $10, and one ticket covers an entire family. You do not need to purchase a ticket for each person, just one for you entire family. Tickets can be purchased at the Pack meeting preceeding the Banquet, or at the door of the Banquet. See your den leader for tickets.
